Formed as a two piece in August of 2009 by Johnny Degenerate and Luke Mishoe, Transylvania Transport Co. cut their teeth as an opening act for local and regional acts as well as busking the streets of Winston Salem, NC. Several talented musicians have joined the ranks of TTC since those early days. Before Chaddy Longlegs filled the percussionary position in 2011, Shawn "Lucky" Elbel, Jay McBones and Bernie Fox all had a great run and brought their own unique style. As the sound grew, so did the need for instruments and J. Cletus joined on washboard and mandolin. As time passed, members came and went and the group would range from 2 to 5 members at any given show. Now a two piece once again, Chaddy Longlegs and Johnny Degenerate have been hard at work recording Transylvania Transport Co.'s first record for Wayward Parade.
Transylvania Transport Co. has always been a rotating cast of chaotic musicians with a longstanding tradition of letting the fans take the stage. TTC is more than just a show, it's an opportunity to be part of the show. Playing a blend of gypsy, blues, punk, rockabilly, etc. leaves the door open for all manner of musical or vocal accompaniment. So be prepared to join in and be sure to bring along a tambourine or two!
