Scott and Marina met in the spring of 2008 when Marina came to Arizona on her first trip to the United States.
On one fateful evening shortly before returning to Japan, Marina came to Scott's house for the first time. In Scott's house she saw a keyboard. She went right to it and began to play.
Surprised and overjoyed, Scott picked up a flute and started to jam with Marina. An amazing musical chemistry was formed in that moment. A wood flute, Didgeridoo and Chinese Guzheng player, Scott was struggling with what direction his music would go. Marina had never recorded before. Agreeing to create a CD together, their lives were forever changed.
"Ebb & Flow", was their first project.
The response to their first CD prompted another visit to America from Marina in 2009, to produce another CD with Scott.
Together they began a series of concert events and planned their next CD. In the midst of their new project called "Under One Sky", an unexpected call from a Yoga instructor Scott knew, placed the "Under One Sky" as they were commissioned by the instructor to create music for a yoga instructional DVD. As a result a CD called "Sacred Waters" was born.
Marina is an inspiration to many around the world that have seen her perform, as she suffers from severe Rheumatoid Arthritis in her hands and fingers. Yet she continues to play with such grace and elegance, fighting through the pain in her constant pursuit for musical perfection.
They both share share the same dream of Marina living in America permenanty, creating music and touring the country performing together.
