Based in New Jersey, In Musth is a self-described DIY grunge-tech-metal band of devoted musicians from a clan of friends that have been jamming together for a decade. Aggressive and cerebral, the trio draws strong influence from classic bands such as Thin Lizzy, Zeppelin, Primus, and Meshuggah. Inventive riffing and meticulous arrangements meet deep grooves. The instrumentals catch the ear. The lyrical work is spaced out and mystical.
Growing in local popularity, In Musth make regular live appearances in Jersey City and Brooklyn. In Musth are: Bryan Elkins on bass and vocals, Ed Charreun on guitar, and Felipe Torres on drums.
The name ‘In Musth’ comes from a periodic condition in bull elephants, characterized by highly aggressive behavior, accompanied by a large rise in reproductive hormones. Whether this hormonal surge is the sole cause of musth, or merely a contributing factor, is unknown; scientific investigation of musth is problematic because during musth even elephants that are otherwise placid may try to kill humans.
