Flower Hill String Band / Bio

The FLOWER HILL STRING BAND serves up a soul-satisfying menu of classic bluegrass and contemporary acoustic music for a family-friendly good time. You’re likely to taste familiar Celtic, old-time, and traditional gospel tunes--as well as a country song or two. The band features several young adults and a few "well-seasoned" members. Dave Adams (banjo) with his daughter Melissa (fiddle and vocals) create the core of the ensemble. Betsy Garris contributes soul-stirring lead vocals while her dad, Mike Garris, provides rhythm guitar and vocals. College freshman Mikey Ambosino ladles on some smoking hot lead guitar while John Relph (mandolin) and Glen Flowers (bass and vocals) round out the group. Hailing from Gaithersburg, MD, the Flower Hill String Band takes its name from the local neighborhood where some of the members live.
