"Echelon High is one of those bands that once you hear them, you almost instantly think “They’ve really got something here”. Borrowing elements from electronica, industrial rock, industrial techno, and modern rock, Echelon High is 1 part Celldweller, 1 part Nine Inch Nails, and 2 parts Awesome. If you like to get your booty shaking while banging your head, then give these guys a listen."
-Josh Otero, DFW Metro Electro
ECHELON HIGH is founder Andrew Kelly, with Stark Morrison, Andrés "A.N.D." Palencia, and David Welty. Pioneers in electro-tinted alternative rock in Dallas/Fort Worth. Originally conceived as an Industrial Hard-Rock act, six years, many shows, and hundreds of fans later, Echelon High has evolved into a definitive and influential presence in the rock and electronic music scene in Texas, sharing stages with acts such as God Module, FGFC820, Souless Affection, Sin DNA, and Virus Filter, and playing notable shows including the 2011 Texas Industrial Fest II and Terrorbyte (Austin), and the Black Friday event at the legendary Lizard Lounge (Dallas).
None of the lineup is new to music, however. Andrew, Stark, and Andrés all have production backgrounds. Longtime contributor Stark Morrison (guitars and vocals), has an extensive background in both stage production and sound engineering, his most well-known production work being for the Grammy Award-winning Texas favorites Brave Combo. Andrés (bass) has done audio engineering/production for film. Other current and former members of Echelon High's live lineup have worked with well-known local and national acts including Pitbull Daycare, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult.
Echelon High's first album, Bits And Zeros, put them on the local map. An upcoming remix album, Corrupt, will blur the lines between metal, alternative, and electronica, and will enlist the talents of many national rock, industrial, and electronica artists. The band currently also has two of their tracks featured on two compilations from Torch Entertainment, and an exclusive track can be found on the Don't Mess With Industrial compilation from DMWI Productions.
Echelon High's second album, tentatively titled Chapter One, is currently in production.
