Strumero, the jazzed-folk/rock group is Michael Romero (guitar, trumpet, and vocals), Neal Shotwell (drums) and guest Carlton Pike (Bass and vocals). "Strumero is a talented and tight group with a true social compass and infectious songs," states Bugle Boy founder, Lane Gosnay. Formed the summer of 2007, the group achieved several milestones their first year including an independent release of "Before I Go," with featured keyboardist, Michele Garcia. In addition, Strumero was named the Best of Showcase winners at The Bugle Boy in La Grange, Texas. An invitation to play on Austin's Fox 7 News "Music in the Morning" soon followed and after a fruitful year's collaboration with the members, band leader Michael Romero entered the Peace Corps where he served for two years in Honduras. Strumero performs in a diverse array of venues and Texas cities, from clubs to schools and social welfare events. "We like to bring music to places in which folks might not expect it,” states Romero. Strumero’s deep appreciation of folk, rock and jazz as well as their commitment to service helps them create a distinct, meaningful sound that is energizing and appealing to all ages.
