This is a story of never giving up on your dream. Age, Origins, Money, Time, People… NOTHING should stop you from doing what is in your heart. This journey started in Trinidad and Tobago many years ago as a founding member of the bands NiteDogs, Stryker and Cross.
Rock music in the 80's in Trinidad was met with fierce resistance but was also supported by strong dedicated fans, eager to listen to something different and original. A vinyl 45rpm was released in the 80's containing songs "Vantage" and "Give it all away." "Rise Up" is the first single released in April 2010 after realizing that hiding your inner truth has devastating external outcomes. You must express what is in you to be fulfilled and happy. The first single is a start of an exploration back to the light.
The video is the root of the song used in the recording sessions for arrangements and musical structure. The recording sessions are at MetalWorks studio in Toronto. The studio is owned by Gil Moore of Triumph. Many great artists including Guns and Roses and Black Eye Peas have recorded there….
Just completed 2 new songs in Trinidad and worked with the most fantastic musicians I have met so far. Shyam Singh provided guitars that worked into the vocals very well. Rion and Aaron Ramkalawan provided drums and bass that drove walls of sound and rhythms. Ramsundar Ramkalawan provided backing vocals and arrangements that took the sound to another level.
The recording was done at Random Design Studios who did magnificent job.
It is October 5 2011 and I just completed a song called I Want to Hold You at my home studio. I played all the instruments and mixed and mastered the song. I feel that this is the best song that I have done so far in the great learning experience. The next step is to get into the video world and showcase the music to a wider audience.
Trinidad remains on of the most beautiful places on earth. The people are the friendliest in the world...Make it the way I lived it...Loose Wild and Free...
