Conceived, born and raised out of struggle, the world was introduced to Kryptik (Born: Joshua J Tyler) Aug 11th, 1982. Raised as a young child in a racially mixed family in Saint-John N.B., He was no stranger to drugs, violence, and racism. But it was the very same struggle and diversity in his upbringing that would lead him to start writing and rapping after his family moved across the country to the weed capital of North America he now calls home... British Columbia, Canada . While most kids were playing video games and going to school, at the age of 14 Kryptik got a true taste of street life, as he was homeless with no more then a sleeping bag for 3 years. Only when he joined the very drug business he wanted to avoid, did he get himself under a roof.
Now in 2010, Krypik has teamed up with “Hempire Records” and has collaborations with west coast legends Bizzy Bone, Crooked I, and Shade Sheist, along with a huge network of local artists. He is known for his unique “roller-coaster” rapping style, delivering both slow and double time raps with ease, often in the same song or verses. Roger Swan (Gold/Platinum Record holder for engineering Rascalz & Swollen Members) says “I like working with Kryptik and the Hempire Crew because they are REAL”. Roger will be the primary engineer for Kryptik's upcoming official album, due late 2010.
