Originally from the Great Smoky Mountains in Cherokee, North Carolina. FORREST BALDWIN is a Native American singer songwriter that has been performing on the East Coast promoting his EP "Let Her Down" along with his expanding repertoire of original music. Forrest blurs the lines of songwriting and showmanship seamlessly incorporating rock, blues, hip-hop, jazz, and acoustic into every heart felt performance. The Singer/Songwriter has been compared to the likes of John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Dave Matthews but strives to set himself apart from the crowd by making his own path through his lyrics, music, and soul.
Every story has its tragedy and triumph, Forrest is no exception. At 9, he contracted West Nile Encephalitis and was put in a coma for 11 days. Hearts were heavy and despite the odds being stacked against him he pulled through fully recovered leaving doctors dumbfounded and a family thankful that miracles DO happen. It is this strength and will to succeed that still drives Forrest to go against the grain in hopes of inspiring a World of listeners.
After moving to Franklin County, Virginia with his family, Forrest began developing himself as an artist performing both solo shows and heading several bands as the lead vocalist and guitarist. In 2009, Forrest packed his bags and left to study at Berklee College of Music to further cultivate his technique and talent as a guitarist and songwriter. Upon returning to Virginia the artist began recording his 2010 EP "Let Her Down" under the guidance of Producer Jim Ebert at Cue Recording. The album gained notice on local News where Forrest performed two live acoustic renditions of featured tracks "Let Her Down" and "Boston" from the EP. Forrest also received talk show buzz on Fox 21 27 on 'The Hour of Joy' performing a new single to be released 2013.
Now living in the low-lands of Charleston, South Carolina. Forrest is performing full time and currently composing the music for his next album. Dividing time in the studio, on the road, and behind pen and pad. Forrest continues pushing himself to become a better musician and lyricist for himself and his fans.
