Remedy Krewe is a five piece band that describes their music as ‘’Southern Funk’’. The original material is a combination of New Orleans Funk that attacks with atomic bomb energy, and soulful southern style rock guitar driven songwriting.
In 2005, Dustan Chiasson found himself in England making music, writing material that reflected his Louisiana roots. It was there that he founded Remedy Krewe, which Chiasson describes as "a funk band with blues influences, playing like a rock band,
Chiasson, who is originally from Lafayette, La., moved the band to New Orleans in 2009, where it has been building a loyal fan base on the live circuit.
As for influences, Chiasson is quick to point out his love for British blues artists such as Robin Trower.expanded by the bands delevery from Soul,Jazz,Funk,and Hiphop,all blended to the musical gumbo that makes the music of New Orleans so unique.
The band has steadily been building their reputation solely on live performance In the southern U.S and Europe due to their ability to extend original material with on the spot improvisation taking the stages of venues and festivals across the globe.
In 2013 Remedy Krewe hit the studio with the addition of friends and contributions by New Orleans musicians,Lionel Batiste Jr,Mark Liuzza, bassist Graham Robinson,Saxophonist,Robin Cabby and vocalist Margie Perez to record their debut album SOUL SHAKER with Grammy nominated producer Jack Miele at Fudge Studios.
The recording showcases the multitude of influence that represent the bands sound such as the dirt on the floor tracks ‘’Devils Smile’’ and ‘’Soul Shaker’’ right down to the funky feel of ‘’Soco Boogie’’ and ‘’Shine’’ that deliver unrelenting groove and soul.
The band is currently touring the Southern and East coast promoting their raw energy and music and continues to grow in the music scene due to their feel good attitude, and intense live performances that are founded on the rule of thumb motto “KEEP IT FUNKY” and you will get nothing less…
