The Quinn Hedges Band plays all original Adult Contemporary Rock and is based out of Sacramento, CA. With meaningful lyrics and more complex musicality overall, music from The Quinn Hedges Band is typically meant to be enjoyed by the more active, rather than passive, listener. The band’s “John Mayer meets Pink Floyd” sound has received many good reviews, one of which sums it all up by stating, “I’ve become an instant fan…as there is this range from Jazz to Folk to Blues to Rock; there’s also this real melodic undertone to everything.” – Rick Kushman (Insight on Capital Public Radio)
The Quinn Hedges Band consists of talented musicians with vastly different backgrounds. Growing up in a musical family, Quinn Hedges was introduced to music at an early age and began playing guitar and writing songs around the age of 15. After earning his degree in music, Quinn became more serious about his songwriting. In 2006, Quinn blended his interpretations of Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Rock into his all-original self-titled debut album, “Quinn Hedges”. In 2011, Quinn released his sophomore effort in the acoustic-based album, “Without You”. After playing in several bands, rigorous gigging as a solo musician, and having written so much original music, it became apparent that it was time for Quinn to form his own group. Thus, The Quinn Hedges Band evolved in 2009, consisting of John Yessen on drums, and Jamison Aguirre on bass. Having played together previously with Quinn in a different band, John was on board with The Quinn Hedges Band from day one. John started playing drums at the age of 9 and has combined his years of playing Jazz, Funk, Latin, R&B, and Rock grooves into a style of his own. John has opened for artists such as Lee Ritenour, Joe Sample, Eric Marienthal, Ray Obiedo, and Joyce Cooling. John has also played alongside the Braxton Brothers, Raphael Saadiq, and the late-great jazz organist Jimmy Smith. After an exhausting search for the right bassist, Jamison was finally added to the mix. Jamison started playing guitar and drums at the age of 12, and eventually picked up the bass at age 17. Since then, Jamison honed his skills as he recorded two albums and toured with a Sacramento based Modern Rock quartet before joining The Quinn Hedges Band. In 2013, The Quinn Hedges Band expanded from a trio to a quintet with the addition of Carlos Verett (percussion, trombone, and vocals) and Jackie Townsend (Saxophone). Both Carlos and Jackie add well-rounded musicality and enthusastic energy to The Quinn Hedges Band’s signature sound.
After playing an abundance of gigs, concerts, and events, the band released their debut album, “Step Outside”, in 2012, and now fans can finally take the music home with them. The band is currently focusing on playing for bigger audiences at different venues and is looking into the possibility of touring. Playing great music for the fans is always number one on their list, so the band is currently writing new material to share with the masses.
