The Prodical Son / Bio

My name is Chris Teggart AKA The Prodical Son

I moved around a lot when I was young but since I was in grade 4 grew up in the small town of Limehouse(Halton Hills Ontario). I started freestyling shortly after I started smoking weed and It wasn't long after that before I was recording tracks. Please don't dismiss me as a drug addict by my last statement, When I would smoke weed it would give me time away from my family/current reality and thought patterns and Allowed me to open my mind to new ways of thinking. Going through difficult situations growing up I found myself angry as a teenager. Music started as a way of taking my aggression out without harming anyone. Coming from a small town where there wasn't anyone but white people Rap music and the whole culture was very frowned upon (This was before Eminem came out and everyone hopped on the Hip-Hop Bandwagon). At first when I started freestyling and then shortly after writing I would only show my close friends that I was comfortable around. My early music was far from Real, or even good for that matter, I would rap about guns that I never shot, killing people, and always seemed to have a very aggressive tone to my music. I look back at some of my old rhymes and laugh but they helped me get better at developing my flow and expanding my vocabulary. At first I never expected to ever record any of my rhymes, but after a while I bought a cheap computer mic, downloaded Adobe Audition 2.0 and recorded a couple songs on my own. Around the same time as I was doing this a friend of mine in a neighboring town was also starting to rap, and make beats (Young K). One day we were talking and he told me that he had a real Microphone and invited me to come over and record. Shortly after we made arrangements to get together and record a track, who we also got another friend Mittesh (A person at the time I looked up to as easily the best rapper in the area). That day Young K, Mittesh and I recorded a track together, and Mittesh and I recorded another track on one of Young K's beats. I will always remember how nervous I was the first time spitting my verse into the mic in front of the people in the room (JC was there too). My First take was horrible... Infact most of my early recordings were, I had no emotion, I was completely monotone, but the words rhymed at least. Mittesh was very encouraging and really told me not to hold back at all. After that day the cat was out of the bag so to speak.

Since then I have started an Indepentendant Canadian Hip-Hop Movement Called Illimitable Entertainment.
Illimitable :
–adjective not limitable; limitless; boundless.
This groups obvective is to bring attention to Real Canadian Hip-Hop Artists.

Some Things I have "accomplished" in Hip-Hop Include Winning the Poud To Be Eh Battle Emcee Round 7, Battled all across Canada In King Of The Dot (Calgary, Toronto, Montreal), Opened for Canibus, Royce Da 5'9, and performed at over 100 different venues, Released 2 Illimitable Entertainment Mixtapes, Recorded over 300 tracks and Dropped the Dopest Freestyles anybodys never heard. I feel That I have a Voice that People LISTEN to and with that It is my obligation to use it to Educate and Raise the Energy of those who listen to me. I'm always looking to build with new people whether it be artists, producers, or just fans of hip-hop.
