Originally a harmonica player Rob started his slide guitar career after playing several shows with Oz bluesman Matt Corcoran. Matt presented Rob with his first slide guitar just 10 years ago. Since then he has amassed respect both locally and as far away as Texas, USA with both his talented harp playing and slide guitar. Rob spent a couple of months in the US playing these instruments. Rob is also playing dobro guitar now and feels this is the instrument.
Presently (as of June 2010) Rob is recording a series of home written songs about Australia with another Larrikin, Jeff Tichbon here in Mackay. Both Jeff and Rob were spoiled by American audiences in their stay in the US, people were very friendly, attentive and frequently participated in their music. A little different to Ozzies who seem to only want a couple of Cold Chisel songs! Keep your ear out for the new CD when it hits the street. Better still buy the tracks you like off the internet!
Spike, Rob reckons he's the best drummer in the world, has played with a lot of big names here in Oz, however he is a very modest person and no amount of cajoleing by eather Rob or Tich will Spike reveal these. You gotta see him to believe it.
