Joe Viterbo / Bio

Formed from the ashes of Edinburgh-based punk-rock outfit, The Newtown Grunts, and named after a character from cult movie, "Death Race 2000", the dysfunctional rabble that make Joe Viterbo have been together for around 7 years, bringing to life one of Scotland's most energetic and eclectic music monsters.

With a wide range of influences, from straight-ahead punk though jazz-infused ska and the Captain Beefheart school of rock, the family Viterbo have been a regular fixture on the thriving Scottish music scene, with appearances from low-key ska and punk nights to various mainstream festivals around the UK as well as shared bills with like-minded friends Esperanza and Bombscare.

A five-track demo, recorded in Graeme Viterbo's home studio and known as "The Under The Carpet EP" has proven something of an underground classic. The band are currently performing at various venues around Scotland and working on a long-anticipated second studio album.
