Up in the Air Band / Bio

Up in the Air blends elements of structure and improvisation into musical styles as varied as folk, pop, dixieland, bluegrass, latin, and worldbeat. The result is a fresh and dancable musical experience with a conspicuously multi-cultural sound.>>>
Featuring the extraordinary singing of Atascadero choir director, Emy Bruzzo; the Jethro Tull-type flute work, and Santana-like guitar leads of David Singer; the song writing, guitar, and keyboard playing of John Beccia; and the exciting ensemble playing of Tom Bruner on trombone, piccolo, and flute; Rich Daulton on drums; Phil Gross on bass; Larry Hoffmann on sax, harmonica, and flute; and Victor Rocha on congas, timbales, and percussion; Up in the Air performs all original songs that are upbeat, melodic, and lyrically relevant.>>>
In 2011 Up in the Air released their 10th CD, "When You Open Your Heart", and in 2012 released a live double Cd, "Damn Fine Live", recorded at Castoro Cellars Winery, and the Rose's annual May Day Party.>>>
Up in the Air has been playing along the Central California Coast for over 25 years. While some of our members have changed through the years, the focus on fun, energetic, and eclectic dance music is as strong as ever.
