Brian Parton is a fast-rising name on the Colorado music scene. His songs move beautifully from funstyle rock 'n' roll to pop. Perhaps one venue owner described him best: "You're mostly rockabilly and everything else is just outside of that". This Denver-based singer/songwriter is pleasing audiences statewide with his rich voice, fantastic acoustic guitar playing and a sincere, humorous, engaging stage presence.
Brian's early background in bluegrass and pre-WWII country, jazz and big band music was later spiced nicely and liberally with a taste for '90s/21st Century pop and '80s New Wave. This is clearly evident in his songwriting. "New Wave and Super Pop have always seemed like 'country music for kids' because of the shared qualities with regards to melody, harmony and so on," he says.
Brian fronted the acclaimed and hard-touring Tulsa rockabilly band Brian Parton and the Nashville Rebels from 1995-2002 before setting sail on a solo career that allowed him to expand more into the melodic pop writing style that he feels comes to him most naturally. He covers it all with his lush, bluesy, and very listenable baritone voice that skies seamlessly into clear and stunning high notes. You will find that Brian Parton is an artist you'll be glad you discovered!
