The Orignalites began humbly in 2008 as a garage band and have evolved in to the original stylee they call their own today. "The Originalites Volume 1" was released in 2012, supported with multiple tours throughout the nation, each launched in Anaheim with a monster ‘House of Blues Tour Kickoff Show’. In spring of 2012 The Originalites were featured in Ron Condon's ‘Sessions’ at The Woodshed in Malibu. 'Prisms', off of Volume 1, was featured in Timmy Turner's movie 'Cold Thoughts'. 2013 brought with it the award: "O.C's Best Surf Band", as well as a performance at the Pacific Amphitheatre during The Orange County Fair, opening for both The English Beat and Save Ferris. The Originalites are much more than a "Surf Band", mixing elements of Reggae, Punk, Jazz, Ska, and Funk. 2014 has born fruit with the second year nomination for Orange County’s ‘Best Surf’, as well as their first nomination for ‘Best Live Band’.
