Overholt is a Singer/songwriter that hails from the hills of east-central Ohio. Son of blue-collar parents, nephew of a Preacher (or two), and the youngest of a list of musically talented cousins. Now splitting time between Harrisburg and Philadelphia, he is soulful, sincere and constantly believable.
Recent History: In 2011 and 2012, Overholt beganto gain attention in the Philadelphia and Harrisburg music scenes with his natural attention to dynamic detail most evident in the coupling of his powerful voice and intimate lyrics. Later in 2012, after opening for Suzie Brown, Philadelphia sweetheart and folk singer, Suzie felt inclined to introduce
Overholt to her Grammy Award winning husband Scot Sax. Over the nearly two year period of after work and weekend round trips from Harrisburg to Philadelphia, Overholt and Sax developed a great working friendship. The resulting 13 song album is Goner, which is detailed to the right. With the completed album awaiting release, Overholt has built attention by playing B-Sides, a concert series that has featured in recent history artists such as David Bazan, F.U.N, Lucius and Denison Witmer.
Formerly only a solo act, Overholt has diversified by adding a very competent group of musicians to cultivate a full live sound.
- Overholt has been initiated by Tinderbox to acquire and oversee T.V. licensing.
- Noise Trade initiated contact with Overholt to be featured as a New and Notable artist at the end of March 2014.
