Hurris & Gig are “aspiring to be inspiring emcees,” as well as the face for a growing Salt Lake hip-hop scene. While attending Skyline High School, the two young rappers started meeting on Friday nights with other class mates to freestyle. A month after graduation, they recorded their first song and started to grow inspiration for their first mixtape, “Impossible is Nothing.” After mediocre internet attention, Hurris and Gig decided that it was time to spread the world in person, so they started going to the Gateway Mall and freestyling to the public. Gradually growing their name, they started to book shows at local venues. It was there that they realized their success started on stage. A show built with a humble mentality and a fearless energy makes Hurris & Gig a treat for fans from any genre.
Hurris’ first solo album, “Growing Pains,” was released in March 2011. The album features the song, “Smell the Roses” featuring Tessa Barton which was released as a music video. Check out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ijkgs28d1pg
