Donna Frost is a true traveling troubadour, one voice, one guitar, and many stories to share in song, based on true-life experiences. She logs thousands of miles year round performing shows in cities all across the US & has also performed in the UK & the Caribbean. She is promoting two new CD's at present, "Ukeabilly Mama" with the Ukeabilly Upstarts (August 2014), her first all original ukulele music project; and "Bare Bones" her rockabilly collaboration with Billy Hancock, recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis. Her third CD “Girls Like Us” which was released in March 2009 on SPAT! Records included two songs "Jacksonville" and "Runaway Train" which were released as singles overseas and were in the top 15 on the indie charts. Donna has been an ASCAPlus recipient for the past 10 years for her work as a performing songwriter & in November of 2012 was given an award by Gevania Global Network in Australia. She was a Kerrville New Folk finalist in 2004. Donna also is lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the BUNNIEs. She worked with the late Skeeter Davis as her background singer from 1996-2002 and performs tribute shows to Ms. Davis each December. Donna also participates as performer and host of Gram Parsons tribute shows for Gram InterNational. She also contributed to Marley Brant’s book, “Tales from the Rock and Roll Highway” as well as a new book just published by Rev. Keith A. Gordon called “The Other Side of Nashville.” Donna is an actress and has been in several theatrical productions in Nashville, including the starring role as Janis Joplin in "Kozmic Blue". She has written some of the music for a new original theatrical production called "Captain Tom". She has also appeared as an extra in episodes of "Nashville" in all 3 seasons on ABC and "Crazy Hearts" on A&E as well as music videos and commercials. She also worked as an extra in the upcoming theatrical release "The Body Sculptor". Donna has worked numerous sessions as a demo singer & background vocalist. She also has written & recorded for “Songs of Love” (songs are created for & given to children with life threatening illnesses-www.songsoflove.org) & is a volunteer for Musicians on Call, which brings music to patients in health care facilities (www.musiciansoncall.org) and also is involved with fundraisers for humane societies.
