Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, SycAmour is fronted by young, teenage heartthrobs Jeremy Gilmore (20) and Tony Sugent (20), and driven by compelling, eclectic band-mates, Victor Yousof (20), Jacob Liepshutz (20), Charlie McCormick (20), and Zack Ferrell (18). Founded in 2009, SycAmour has made a nationally and internationally growing name for themselves through the band’s eccentric, marketable sound, performing at the biggest hardcore & alternative music festivals including Thrash & Burn, The Jamboree, Scream It Like You Mean It, and The Infamous Tour. Fans can catch SycAmour playing alongside acts including Asking Alexandria, I See Stars, Attack Attack, For Today, Crown The Empire, Woe, Is Me, & We Came As Romans.
Summer 2012, SycAmour traveled to Columbus, Ohio to record their first EP, “Obscure,” with Jonny Franck (formerly of Rise Record’s, Attack Attack). November 2012, SycAmour’s “Obscure” EP release show sold over 200 physical units (Ann Arbor, Michigan) and grasped 681 digital unit sales upon release. Moreover, there are currently 9 confirmed illegal “torrent” websites circulating the “Obscure” EP via Peer-to-Peer networks, boasting further circulation through illegal distribution.
Subsequently, SycAmour rapidly climbed BandCamp’s publicly exhibited “top seller(s)” charts, reaching the #1 position, earning “Obscure” the title of “Album of the Week.” Following the release of “Obscure,” SycAmour made the front page of Reddit, a universally renowned website boasting 43 million globally, registered users. The Reddit post fostered 1,760 “up-votes,” translating to 600 points and a 60% likability rating. Extraordinarily, the online buzz generated an impressive sum of unforeseen publicity to which Japanese distributors sought-after 50-100 physical copies of “Obscure” to be exhibited and sold within the intercontinental music market to the eager, international fan-base.
