Kat Zolita Mason is a "sub rosa piano girl"
Her songs tell true stories from the undergrowth.
Her first C.D. (but second recording), was recorded when she was 16 years old is available now. Called THE WITCHES, it comes with a 28 page booklet of lyrics and was recorded by people from the The University of Canterbury. It has a theme based on "Commedia Dell Arte", and tells and is done as a story about the masks people wear as a play in three acts.
Her more recent CD called "Sub Rosa" can be heard here.
This CD celebrates the theme of sacred feminine and fuses sex and sacredness together.
From a review: "-She plays piano and sings at the same time, often howling like a banshee or like a selkie fancying a return to the wild waves of the sea .
She lives in the green New Zealand hills high up, where she plays on her grandmothers old upright piano while wearing wearing supernatural green lipstick and black nail-varnish with a long evening dress and a skull scarf and she doesn't care what people think"
I am also a writer and used to work as an actor, specialising in Shakespeare. I'm particularly interested in the themes in "A Midsummer Nights Dream" and "The Tempest", have performed in hundreds of plays and some short experimental films. I have a new CD written which is more rhythm-based, and I am looking for a record contract or for someone suitable to help get it out. Love and Light
