Zolita Mason is a "sub rosa piano girl"
Her songs tell true stories from the undergrowth.
Her first C.D. (but second recording), was recorded when she was 16 years old is available now. Called THE WITCHES
IN THE MASKLANDS it comes with a 28 page booklet of lyrics and was recorded by people from the The University of Canterbury. It has a theme based on "Commedia Dell Arte", and tells and is done as a story about the masks people wear as a play. It is done in three acts.
Then followed the dark-haired and moody album "Gothic Fairytales" 1994
Her more recent CD called "Sub Rosa" are the songs that can be heard on here.
She's written a new album since then and is looking for a recording contract or help to record it and get it out to the public.
From a review: "-She plays piano and sings at the same time, often howling like a banshee or like a selkie fancying a return to the wild waves of the sea .
She lives in the green New Zealand hills high up, where she plays on her grandmothers old upright piano while wearing wearing supernatural green lipstick and black nail-varnish with a long evening dress and a skull scarf"
-Love and Light and really good music. Kat XX
