PYU / Bio

Pyu (pronounced Pie-U) is an American singer/songwriter, producer and Hip-Hop artist from Memphis, TN. He is also Co-CEO of SPKR, LLC, home of Speak-rRr-Freak. Pyu first gained notoriety in the Memphis Hip-Hop community in 2000 while signed to Longboy Entertainment as a member of the group B.U.R.N Unit. Due to label issues, the songs from the completed album "BHZ Live" went unreleased until 2004 when Pyu released the mixtape "Supremacy" under his own imprint P.O.B. Also in 2006, P.O.B. along with APMG and Blowing Big Ent would release "The Adminstration" mixtape to critical acclaim. He would continue to perform and feature with other local artists until 2008 when he formed Speak-rRr-Freak, Ent with longtime friend Jerroll "J-Chris" Christopher and Reggie Hines. His first single and video "Notomaroh (No Tomorrow)" has been praised for it's well structured chords, catchy-melodic hook, and his clever, lyrical delivery. Pyu is slated to release his long-awaited album "Memphis In Stereo" 3rd Quarter 2012.
