Stan Mishler is a thirty-five year old songwriter hailing from the Metro Detroit Area. After having played guitar and signing in local bands for over ten years, he decided in the spring of 2008 to focus his attention on being solo singer/songwriter similar to the likes of Ben Howard, Glen Hansard, Ryan Adam, and the later styles of Johnny Cash. Thanks to his talent for crafting songs with haunting musical arrangements and thought provoking lyrics as well as his unique vocals that at times have been compared to Johnny Cash, he has been connecting with audiences every chances he gets to perform. Stan draws inspiration from many different lyrical and musical influences. "Music to me is simple, writing a song is about feeling something. There doesn’t need to be a complexity to it, just create a feeling in the listener so they can relate to the music and the lyrics.” It is with this simplicity and the ease of being a songwriter that has lead to the release of Stan’s new collection of songs, the EP "Grabbing for the Sun" Which Stan also produced and mixed in his home studio. Stan has put together a solid EP of original songs as a follow up to his first album “When The Silence Sets In… "
