Imagine fixed wheel bicycles chained to a yacht, dirty Chuck Taylors and Dom Perignon, Hip Hop and R&B with an indie twist. This San Francisco foursome has managed to craft an indulgent sound that takes advantage of all the things we love to hate - a little bling bling mixed with a dash of dirty hipster.
Le VICE deftly blends a wide spectrum of sounds and musical styles all the while maintaining a distinguished signature rooted in strong song-writing. With her sexy, rich, raspy lower register, Lead Singer Lee embodies the spirit of the pied piper, entrancing the audience, leaving them compelled to call in sick to work in order to keep the party going. Lee is supported by a Trio of talented musicians, between whom have both diverse and overlapping musical backgrounds. While they are in fact formally-trained and highly skilled Musician’s Musicians, they also have impeccable taste, and site the later as the key to song-writing. The palette of warm, fuzzy Analog Synths, Guitars which are sometimes meaty, and other times ghostly float in vast space, are cradled by full and driving Bass and Drums. These timbres which are common to genres Electro Pop, EDM, and Indie Rock are married with 808 Drum Sounds and Digital Synth Sounds which are synonymous with Trap Music. Group uses this expansive spectrum of sounds in ways that are atypical to the on-the-nose cliches that we are accustomed to hearing. In a world where packaged products dominate every aspect of one’s experience, Le VICE’s effortless commitment to their unique identity, in look, sound and message, makes for artistic expression that speaks to people who maintain a carefree spirit and live their lives to enjoy the ride.
