We are .030 Over! We hail from Frankford Ontario and we are musicians that do what we love and hope the masses love it too. The experience in this project is amazing. The sound you hear cannot be created without all of us sprinkling our spice onto the song.
Influences in this band are many. Everything from Technical Death Metal to folk believe it or not. We have been compared to NIN, Slash, Dope, A dash of Motorhead, and wee bit of everything in between. We try to achieve a heavy groove with a focus on melody. This gives us our sound.
This project began with myself writing and recording my own songs which quickly became songs written by Chay & I, then Tony came along and put his pixie dust on it....Voila .030 Over. The darkness comes from Chay, the melody comes from Scott, and the groove comes from Tony. Ego's are put aside and the focus is on the music....This keeps us inline. And let's not forget our very good friend John "Demon Speed" Riddell from Non-Existent. John does the bulk of our Leads for us because the kat just plays like a possessed Yngwie. He always caps the cherry on our songs. Our other good friend Luc Parent can be heard wailing on songs like Damaged or Soldiers' Sunrise......These are some cool songs!
So who is .030 Over? Tony Forbes is a local artist who is well known for his acoustic folk rock and also performing in some local heavy acts. His mind is like a Spielberg movie. You never know where he will take a song vocally and content wise. But he always nails it! He is the coolest vocalist we have had the pleasure to work with....He simply has a magic few artists ever achieve! Watch this kat! He will blow the doors off of this project in the New Year. Chay McMullen is the Rhythm Maestro. He comes from a Technical Death Metal background and having toured all over Europe and experiencing that true Road Dawg experience! Chay brings a load of experience to the project and has played on many major album releases including Infernal Majesty, Wetwork, And Fear Disorder. Chay`s true love lies in jazz and watching this madman play bass is an experience and an honor. Then there is Scott Roffey.....The kat with the vision and persistence to take this from start to finish. Having a long background in the industry touring for many years as a sound engineer for many recording acts.....This honed him for what he always wanted to do, which was write music and create music at a high calibre! .030 Over gives him the platform to do this. We are very blessed to have these very good friends involved in this project!!! Cheers guys!
Music is an amazing thing that brings people together. Writing a song is touching other people with your soul and emotions. Music is a beautiful thing. We love working with new creative musicians with similar likes in styles of music and collaborating. A lot of my riffs come from jams that we have with our friends on a Friday night and life experience. Cheers and Keep them horns waving in the air!
