The Bimm Quaid is a progressive rock band from western Washington. Their music uses elements of rock, jazz, experimental and noise combined with catchy vocal hooks and instrumental improvisation. It could be more closely described as being at once traditionally familiar and instantly attention-grabbing as well as refreshingly inventive with points of dissonant alchemy. For example, a song like The B.i.g. W.i.t. from the band's second Ep (T.B.E.) uses its blues/fusion opening riff to set up a heavy, yet swinging rhythm melding into a near perfect, enigmatic chorus before breaking down to an almost ethereal, vocally driven section that practically implodes in on itself just as the beat comes back and takes you to the place you need to be. The bands other musical moods include everything from soft, dynamic grooves to all out bombast and freeform attitude. The music stands alone and does not automatically invite comparisons to other groups because the members of The Bimm Quaid have an understanding of all forms of music and work very hard to keep what they do as original as possible while still keeping the "feel" of the music accessible to the average listener.
