From producer to rapper, JG, was born and raised in Jackson, MS, where he grew up on the west side of the city, “Tha Bottom.” Music has always been a part of his life; from playing the snare drums in the marching band throughout his matriculation in school, to playing percussion at church. Being influenced by artists such as, Tupac, Biggie, Bone Thugs & Harmony and Busta Rhymes, JG started out producing music at the age of 14 yrs. old. Growing up in a church going household, he chuckled as he remembered having to sneak to listen to the explicit lyrics of his favorite artist.
Kaotic Productionz, a production group consisting of three brothers, JG, Bruce and Pat, was founded in 2002. Each member has a different style of beat making that they bring to the table, so diversity is their strongest suite. When they come together and collaborate on a track....the music speaks for itself. “We are an independent production company. We are always looking to collaborate and network with other producers and artists.” With the motto “FEED US RAPPERS, WE'LL FEED U BEATZ...” “We keep beatz on deck. Beatz get made daily and we got beatz for cheap!”
Producing beats for local music artist such as, Luck, That Boy Drama and Tricky, to name a few, JG felt confident enough in his product that he began sending tracks to major artist such as, Nitsy Hustle, Soulja Boy and Little Chuckie from Young Money. JG started rapping about 4 years ago. When he would come up with a beat, he would also come up with choruses to the beat and rap it to that particular artist who was interested in the beat for creative input. He got the confidence and idea to rap, when he noticed that the artists were actually feeling the beat and the chorus that he rapped to them. He knew that he had the same potential that the rapper had. It led from making simple choruses to full songs.
At the beginning of 2012, JG started his rap label Kaotic Muzik Group, consisting of himself and four other local rappers; Kayoh, NorthEnd Phat, NorthEnd D, and Kaptain Curt. The motto for the label is #WORK! Kaotic Muzik Group, aka KMG, also has a filming department which is directed by videographer and photographer, Von P. KMG Films promotes the production of high quality music videos, conferences, weddings etc… KMG also has its own graphic team, where website designs, logos and t-shirts designs are created.
JG just released his first mix tape called #IMJUSTSAYIN, where he has received great reviews. You can find his new single “Lemme C U Move” ft. Prep on ITunes, Amazon, and Rhapsody. JG is all about grinding, networking, and loyalty, in which he says he won’t stop until the goal of success is accomplished!
