Claire Rodriguez’s music is a creative explosion where sounds float and weave into a sultry and soothing musical landscape. Recently she released her second solo project, Under the Covers, in which she covered songs by some of her favorite artists, including Janet Jackson and Bjork. Fittingly, her music has been compared to that of Norah Jones, Sade, and Adele.
As an adolescent, Claire followed her passion for art to Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and the Performing Arts where she studied classical voice. It was through this diamond mine of a young arts community in midtown Manhattan where she began showcasing her songs and poetry. Throughout college she performed at some of the most well known venues in Philadelphia including World Café Live, North by Northwest, The Rotunda, Fergies Pub and The Fire. In May 2008 she self-released her debut album, Words of Abstract under her former stage name, RÁJI.
After a series of tragedies from 2007 to 2008, Claire re-discovered the power of art as a source of healing. She began her journey as a guitarist and started a small business selling handmade items. She now resides in New York City and continues to explore the infinite social, emotional, and intellectual possibilities of art.
