DearOlivejuice began when Josiah's passion to worship his Father in heaven, Jesus Christ, drove him to learn the guitar. Upon learning a few chords Josiah began to compose silly songs with his best mate Jono. They dubbed themselves The Humble Bards. Their music can still be found around the internet on myspace and even some improv videos on youtube.
As they continued to create improv tunes together people began to notice that Josiah could sing before he had even thought so himself. He was soon invited to join a band with some friends which he thought was ridiculous at the time because he 'wasn't very good'.
Shortly there after he was asked to lead worship at his youthgroup. Peoples desire to have him play drove his self-taught learning process along at a steady enough pace.
Josiah tends to be very laid back and yet a somewhat insane person and so his music may reflect that to some degree. Between the simple acoustic rhythm and fairly awkward vocal melodies DearOlivejuice finds it's almost electronic sound. Sometimes compared to Owl City or Death Cab for Cutie.
To sum it up, DearOlivejuice, started as an attempt to give praise to an all powerful Creator and that Creator soon purposed that praise into something unexpected.
That something, my dear friends, is DearOlivejuice.
