The roots of rAcemusic can be found where so-called "race music" first developed -in the American South, of the early 20's & 30's, in juke joints, churches, in shacks, in homes. "This music is now, as it was then, for everyone to share in and enjoy and folks found liberation through it, they found themselves in it", says rAce. Rob and Glen are bringing you that feeling in a whole new way musically and give homage to that past within their compostions, within the songs they write and produce. "The feeling is real.. and lyricly, I try to convey our reality,.. the way we live today and acknowledge those feelings, these emotions, tell a story through song that touches you... that magic has been bringing us together, bringing people together during uncertain times, from then to now". With elements from Earth, Wind & Fire, Seal, Miles Davis and Marvin Gaye, rAcemusic is joining the landscape of American contemporary music - past, present & future.
Most recently, rAcemusic were seen performing selected tracks from their up-coming release at the Blue Note NYC, July 2010 and a striped down acoustic set in Nov. 2010 . Residing in New York City, the group will release their debut CD in the summer of 2011 and plan to take their music on tour overseas . Get ready for rAcemusic - it's going global!
