“It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more."
The Magnificent Rogues is the British version of the movie "The Good The Bad and The Ugly". Although we are in no way affiliated with either version of that movie, we do consider ourselves big fans and thought the name was quite fitting for us. Come out to a show and you'll understand why. And no, we are not British.
"Society produces Rogues, and education makes one Rogue cleverer than another." -Oscar Wilde
Miller and Redwine formed the band in May of 2009, out of a very similar taste for Southern, "Dirty" Rock. No, nothing like a Lynyrd Skynyrd type of Southern Rock, but more of a distorted, twangy, disdain for the over-produced top 40s music that is out there. Not that there's anything wrong with that music, but it does'nt turn us on. So with that being said, you may be asking yourself, who do we sound like? Well, take your pick... we tend to think of ourselves as a mixture of several of our preferred musicians, no more like one than the other. Just a good mix of all of them. Yes, that may not make alot of sense, but we've never made sense.
"I am bewitched with the Rogue's company. If the rascal have not given me medicines to make me love him, I'll be hanged." -William Shakespeare
