Growing up exposed to music just west of Boston, then just as far south of Chicago as he was east of St. Louis, a few years in the hills of Upstate New York,and back to Boston; Steven has been writing songs since he was a child. While playing Blues events and small clubs Steven also shared the stage with numerous musical greats throughout the country.
Noticed for his natural performance skills and following, from the late 80's into the early 90's, he was chosen to run an open stage event at three seperate Nashua New Hampshire clubs that later became a road show called "Steve's Ham Jam".After co-writing,co-producing,and promoting 3 compilation albums for "New World Axis Records",(1987-1991), He released his first solo album in 1993 and his small cult following was born.
In 1998 he released his second album "Cristo and Company". Later,2000) he would team up with others to produce the album"Suspects as Usual"Which was the foundation for the project that later awarded Steve the funding to tour Asia and release "The Longest Road",(2005), in Manila Philippines receiving air play and media hype throut Asia.(Alpha Records/PI.)
After one more tour to Thailand Steve bought a small recording set up in Central Florida Where he writes and produces today. Steve has co-produced ,
co writen,or has worked with many outstanding artists including grammy and hall of fame nominees and recipiants.Steven is steadily working on the completion of his new album which will feature cuts from NEW WORLD AXIS and ESP studios in St Petersburg/Pinellas Park FL. Rock vocalist Steve Roberts ,(from St Louis), shines on the newer cut "Believe" While reknowned blues vocalist "Mr Nick" David ,drummer Hert Lewis, keyboardist Alan King and bassist Tommy Davis tear it up on L.O.V.---E ! Austin Vickery on sax,(also on "Red Devil Ave.") ,Tom Gaskins on keyboards and Glenn Laubaugh on flute and keys for "Secret Destiny",Al Modesto on bass for "Cross that line" and Gary Zammito,plays keys on "Red Devil Ave",and Go for broke"Harvey Myers on vocals and acoustic on "Go for Broke",Laquana Santiago on backing vocals on "Believe",Herbert T. Lewis and Byron Thoburn on Drums and Paul Kruse , and Jeffrey Spearman on bass for live shows .Steven Cristo does all vocals and instruments with the exceptions noted above.
