It was Valentine's Day. The lights were low; Marvin Gaye plays softly in the background. The stage is set for someone to get it on. Wait... Someone is already getting it on. A rock god and punk goddess are making some sweet sweet love. On the couch. Ooooohhh dang... 7 minutes later, a quick swimming little rock sperm penetrates the punk egg, and 9 months later, in the winter of 2008, Bedside Manner is born. After a disastrous first show, Bedside Manner decided to think things through a bit better. They cut the umbilical cord, got rid of the placenta, washed off the afterbirth, and has been pleasing crowds (rather than grossing them out) ever since.
After a few lineup changes, the band settled on their current lineup of Craig, Gy, Brent, and Tuck (click on their names at the top of the page to check out their totally sweet bios).
Bedside Manner has a very diverse sound that can satisfy fans of any age/genre. We play everything from heartfelt ballads (Still Be Missing You) to angry songs about failed relationships and betrayal (Ending is Better Than Mending). Our bread and butter, however, is clever satires about..well, just about everything. Anything from Emo Girls, to late night parking lot trysts, to penguin love (yes, penguin love) is fair game. The common threads linking every track together are refined musicianship, catchy sing-along melodies, and clever lyricism that will have you tapping your foot while laughing your ass off. Take the tone and pop sensibilities of Fall Out Boy mixed with the clever tongue-in-cheek lyrics of the Barenaked Ladies and the sheer goofiness of early Blink 182. Add in just a touch of the rawness of bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu and you get Bedside Manner.
So far, Bedside Manner has rocked the stage with a lot of awesome bands, including Alabaster, Again and Again, Libretto, and Big Wheel Stunt Show. We love to play, and are open to playing any show, anytime, anywhere. Need a band on short notice? Hit us up!
