Zwhenji Tots didn't begin his music career early in life, but when he did begin, it was with a spirit and enthusiasm rarely exhibited in this world. But then, to say ZT is of this world would be a distortion of the truth.
The guitar found him at a NYC karaoke bar, where he began playing Japanese and American hits, and Mississippi Delta blues under the tutelage of Yukari Roja.
After getting the basics under his belt, and a few crucial callouses on his fingers, ZT had the good fortune of meeting Dominic Frasca, owner of The Monkey NYC, who began instructing him in classical guitar styles. ZT was quickly introduced to the music of composers such as Brouwer, Villa-Lobos and Barrios Mangore. His love for the soulful South American guitar styles was instant and complete.
To date, ZT has performed many times at The Monkey, his "holiest of holy" places. This will always be the place where ZT's heart resides. Let's hope the building is big enough to hold it......
