Goldrush first played together just as friends trying out an interesting mix of instruments. Matt Gold (classical bass), Treesa Gold (violin) & Prabir Mehta (guitar) met through their common employer - The Richmond Symphony. The incomparable Gregg Brooks (drums) enthusiastically completed the rock quartet. Matt & Treesa are classical musicians and Prabir and Gregg were raised in rock & roll. They shared a love of Beethoven and The Beatles and Prabir wrote a song for the group (Pursuit of Happiness) that allowed Treesa & Matt to start the experimentation process of mixing their classical instruments into popular music. A month later they were playing their first show at Six Burner and getting ready to start recording their EP, An Introduction To Prabir & The Goldrush. The group continues to record and perform in Richmond and surrounding areas to enthusiastic crowds. At the heart of it, they are four friends who all enjoy making music. This summer the group will travel to Nebraska as guest faculty at the Omaha Music Conservatory and to promote their new album, "We Don't Have To Worry."
