“Slice some British punk, a teaspoon of the Seattle sound, a dash of Pop melodies, layer Rock Riffs seasoned with Hardcore and you have BRIGHTLIGHT CITY.”
A rock band made up of long term friendship, brotherhood bought together by their shared love of bands such as Hundred Reasons, Million Dead, Foals, Yourcodenameis:Milo, At the Drive-In, Hell is for Heroes, Thrice, Jimmy Eat World and a keen eye for classic films and an even greater love for Asian cuisine and fine whiskeys.
They plan to continue with the success they so resolutely laid the foundations for in 2013; in which they saw themselves support such bands as Bastille, Dog is Dead, Fickle Friends and played festivals with Young Guns, Deaf Havana, Don Broco…. This coupled with national and international radio play(6Music, Amazing Radio, XFM, BFBS), and a string of successful tours, they are ready to hit the ground running.
The band started 2014 by releasing 3 singles over the first 6 months coupled with mini tours encompassing the UK, they headed into the studio in June 2014 to record the new E.P, ‘Breaking Straight Lines’, with Producer Jason Wilson (We are the Ocean, Reuben, You Me at Six).
The bands aim was to capture the energy and intensity that is present in their live shows, by building on their melodic pop hooks by dovetailing guitar riffs into sweet grooves and setting it to a pulse pounding rhythm section. As Jamie Giarraputo (vocalist & lyricist) states “We wanted to capture the enthusiasm and positivity that is the essence of the band , but also not shy away from writing a set of anthemic rock pop songs.”
