Blending electronic loops and samples with live instrumentation, Undercover Organism creates a sound they call electronic jam music. With influences in jam, funk, hip-hop, dub and many different styles of electronic music, UO strives on exciting the crowd with sounds they don't normally here from a live band. Gaining more fans near and far, Undercover Organism looks to infect people looking for climactic jams layered with spectral soundscapes.
From their formation in 2009, UO has always been recognized as a band that experiments with an electronic jam style that is gaining increased popularity among festival goers and music enthusiasts. Deep bass and synths are prevalent with arpeggiating backdrops, meanwhile guitars melodically rip through building to epic crescendos. Mixing live electronics with a live band, Undercover Organism has shown that it is capable of turning any place they play into an dance party. Dynamic, rhythmic, melodic, raging, its all there. Improvisation is key with ever changing sounds, instruments and samples. Undercover Organism is constantly evolving and always finding new ways to keep the crowd moving. Milwaukee, WI, thats where the jams first formed and an Organism was born. Ian Hutchinson and Josh Chamberlin lived and went to school at UW-Milwaukee from 2006-2010. Although, they went to high school together in the small town of Waunakee, WI, they had never played in a band together prior to 2008. At trip to Rothbury Music Festival in 2008 eternally changed Hutch and Josh's perception on what music can be and how to it can be experienced. At the festival, the idea of Undercover Organism was born.
After a few months UO had their first show and Undercover Organism was a reality. Over the years, a few members have come an gone do to their own aspirations, but the ideas and goals for the music and band have always stayed the same. Create music that has been influenced by the situation, and blends the traditional rock band with the sounds and spectrum of electronic music.
Today Undercover Organism consists of; lead guitarist and vocalist, Ian Hutchinson; guitar, synth, electronics, producer, and vocalist, Josh Chamberlin; bassist, Jason Haeberlin; and drummer Jason Perry.
