Eye Was Once Eaten is a trio from Fort Worth, Texas, that formed in early 2009. They are a hard rock band with a touch of progressive, metal, and noisy flavors. Each member of the band brings a separate artistic vision to their meaty sound. Any fan of heavier music will enjoy the three piece EYE WAS ONCE EATEN.
Jessie Ingle blends technical and straight forward percussion in with his drumming. Ingle’s style gives E.W.O.E. its foundation for their solid song structures. Dustin Schneider brings twisted low ends with his bass guitar. Dustin keeps the listeners full attention with the use of his effects and grindy bass lines. Matt Stubbs plays a strong and riffy laden sound on his guitar. Stubbs cast an eerie sheet of noise that can pull anyone into the “eye” of Eye Was Once Eaten. All three of the band members provide verses filled with growls, spacey melodies, and grungy verse.
Eye Was Once Eaten has roots dug deep into the North Texas music scene. Jessie and Matt played together in a heavy rock band called Steadfast early in the decade. The two released 5 songs together with guitarist Brian Johnson and bassist Matt Thomas. Brian Johnson is currently the lead guitarist of Fort Worth based, WhiskeyDick. After Steadfast broke up in early 2003, Jessie played with Dustin in the industrial metal band, X-Mobius. Jessie and Dustin later collaborated in the alt. rock band Audioscopic. Dustin also currently has an avant garde noise soundscape project called Plastikon.
The triad, Eye Was Once Eaten, is a heavy wall of sound with pieces of metal, industrial, and noise embedded in it. Any subscriber of the heavier brand of music will enjoy Eye Was Once Eaten.
