I am Steve "rokkinroll", A.K.A. ~ MobiusTripz
The latest album "GONE MAD", is in pre-release mode, with many cuts streaming now!
I compose and play and sing all the material contained within.
I love playing guitar, grew up playing in the orchestra, and saw my first rock concert live in 1979...watching Jethro Tull perform at the Capitol Centre in Largo, Maryland, followed by Framptom live in 1979 at West Point in new York, where my brother got me a ticket when he was a student at the prestigious Military Academy.
The 80's was peppered with every band you can imagine from that era, as I was still immersed in classical, Hard Rock, Alternative, Hip Hop, etc.
If there is music and I am close by, I am usually going to attend if I can.
I refuse to be boxed in by any single genre, and I understand deeply the artistic expression and beauty of freedom that music entails, as it is seemingly the last truly free frontier.
I have met David Russell, George Lynch, Mic Brown, Steve Morse, Dave Grohl, T.C. Tolliver, Eddie Spaghetti, etc., and have a multitude of friends in the business.
Most of the guys I speak deep music with, be it theory, practice, composition, musical/artistic life, or what have you.
I have been truly blessed to walk in these old worn shoes so long and relish my experiences and only hope to offer something back to the music that has sustained me thus far.
I also write poetry of all kinds, some fiction and non fiction, have been published at The United States Department of Energy, and I am working on a book or two.
I simply hope you will enjoy my inspirations in music and find something to take with you in it's melodic, or oft not so melodic, tones, reverberations, melodies, harmonies, and the likes.
My buddy works XM Studios in Washington D.C. and as their lead Engineer and he said it best about music...something to the effect of...
"Steve, if you were on an island all alone with nothing, you would find a way to make music just like I would...we kind of just cannot help it!" (really not a ver batim quote but conveying that exact sentimentality)
I really loved that statement and realized even deeper in myself that music is about the individual, not money, not anything but the art of expression and enjoyment and friendships that can last lifetimes.
My true inspirations are everyone I have ever known, because with each step, be it a good or poor step, or a falling down at worst, something is always brought back and offered up to the music Gods!
so blah, blah, blah...
I hope you will listen to the diverse sounds I have created and carry something forward with you...drop me a line here, I do my best to respond always, time willing.
