The Fores are Mods and Rockers, Movers and Shakers that formed in 2009.
They were formed during a jamming session at college where their momentum compelled the boys to carry on and they soon established themselves in the local music scene in their hometown. From then on, they spread their wings into local festivals and onto the world famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, where they have since played 3 times.
With Liam Hopkins (rhythm guitar) at the helm and with his sights set on fulfilling his musical dreams, he united with Dale Andrews (drums) followed by Chris Eardley (bass) and Gareth Gamble (lead guitar). Jamie Burgess then combined his skills as the lead vocalist, a position he instantly developed into with incredible success.
Since 2011, The Fores’ development has been nothing short of phenomenal; their attitude and dedication has cemented them as a must-see band in Leicester, UK. Their social media following is a testament to their ability to communicate with their every-expanding fan base, something that is very important to the band.
Since performing to a packed and star-studded audience at The National Reality Television Awards in London, the band subsequently won the award for ‘Best Newcomers’ at The Independent International Download Awards in 2012; previous winners include Dizzy Rascal and The Artic Monkeys.
Liam is the main songwriter and is a conveyor belt of musical creativity to which the rest of the band then add their own brand of expertise. The Fores take their inspiration from many different arenas; their rock ‘and roll edge enthused with captivating lyrics is what motivates them toward success. With songs such as the melodic ‘Rolling on Heat’ and the rockier award-winning single ‘Let Go!’ under their belt, the band are safe in the knowledge that their music is undeniably appealing. It is this unique combination that provides for an eclectic and entertaining live spectacle.
In 2014, they performed at the Exposure Music Awards in London where they were the only band on the bill to be nominated for 2 awards. In May, The Fores played at Alan McGee’s District Club in Liverpool (the man who signed Oasis, Primal Scream, Jesus and Mary Chain etc.) and played an incredible set in front of a passionate audience that included delegates from Liverpool Sound City that was also happening at the time.
David Bash, the Founder and CEO of the IPO (International Pop Overthrow) Festival personally invited The Fores to play 2 sets at this year’s event, the first set took place at the prestigious Cavern Club and the second took place over the road at the Cavern Pub. The following weekend they played at Glastonbudget for the second year running.
