The Shaken & Stirred Story...
In a moody Toronto jazz club, waits a restless bassist. Long after the set has finished, Gerard Briz snaps close his guitar case and heads out into the night. Driven by the music in his head, he roams the busy streets, searching without direction, dreaming of what could be.
Meanwhile, Alonso Mendez has donned his headphones and is walking out of the latest hot-spot night club. The pounding bass which has filled the club leaves this DJ’s ringing ears unsatisfied, as he imagines a new wave of his music washing over the city.
Unaware of the chain of events which are about to take place, their unforeseen collision sets in motion the genesis of an era: the rebirth of the remix. Ad-mist the cacophony of confusion, their recovery produces an electronic infusion that can only be enjoyed Shaken or Stirred.
Stereo Martini’s musical journey has already landed 2 of their remixes in Billboard’s Hot Club and Dance chart. With ongoing collaborations with the likes of Hollywood starlet “America Olivo” (Friday the 13th, Bitch Slap, Transformers 2, Neighbour, Spider Man the musical), Canadian crooner “Matt Dusk”, funk guitar legend “Leroy Emmanuel” (The Faboulous Counts, LMT Connection), “Storm Newton” (Dirty Dancing : the musical, Keeping up with the Kardashians), “Teria Morada”, double Juno winners “The Sound Bluntz” and a series of other local and international artists such as Davidson Ospina, Marko Bongo, Joe Ghost, Oscar Poche and MTV Canada’s Tika Simone amongst others, the Shaken and Stirred story is yet to be completed. With their debut album close to completion, and their collaborations gaining momentum, make sure to stay tuned and drink your martini with a twist.
