Lorri Solomon is a singer/songwriter whose songs reflect the lives of ordinary people. Not always politically correct, and not always a lady, Lorri tries to nail down bright shiny moments-a term she uses to describe those moments that really stand out.
In June of 2009, Lorri partnered with Ken Hamm, Anthony Kelly, Fred Easton and Lane Easton to record "Two Days in June" a live off the floor CD of original tunes written by Lorri.
That wasn't her first foray into the recording business; she made her first CD "Behind the Eyes of a Dreamer" in 1998.
Lorri says the words to the songs just seem to come to her.
"Often songs come with no warning and with no help from me at all. I'm happy to write them down and try to learn to play them, but i feels odd to take credit for a process I have so little control over. I think the only thing I've learned to do over the years, is to stay out of the way of the song--to let it come in its own time and in its own way."
Lorri was born inn Ottawa, raised in Manor and has three grown daughters. She lives in Carlyle with her partner Greg, and her dog Murphy.
She enjoys performing at all sizes of venues and has started organizing house concerts to introduce other artists to the area.
Lorri recently performed at the "All Folked Up" Festival in Montmartre, and while there also led a songwriting workshop. Organizers of the festival said, "Lorri played at last year's festival and we wanted her back the minute she started to perform."
