The Lighter Exchange is an American Rock-n-Roll band founded in 2007 by singer-songwriter Christian Wilson (former front man of Orlando hometown heroes Still Naïve signed to Maverick Records in 2002). TLE independently released a self titled / self produced LP in 2007 and toured the southeastern US with Candlebox. After 2 years of regional touring (sharing the stage with Zac Brown Band, Days of the New, and many others), the band returned home to begin writing new material. With some new faces in the picture and a renewed sense of hope on the horizon, they entered the studio with Producer Chris Gill (Shinedown).
“The writing process for this record was really special for me because I knew we were starting to channel the spirit of TLE and what we were about as a band... We had found what every artist hopes to find, and what some spend a lifetime chasing after - an identity. The songs, the people involved, the energy... Everything was there. It just felt right.”
The band crafts powerful anthems, each with a soul and heartbeat as real as the events that inspired the words running through them. Their sound echoes the past, present and future of rock-n-roll, highlighted by southern undertones and sing-along melodies.
When asked to describe their music, the front man had this to say - “If you were to put some Tom Petty, U2, and Foo Fighters records into a blender, you would have yourself a delicious rock n roll smoothie that would taste something like our music...”
The end result is - Beneath the Endlessness - an album that is as heartbreaking as it is triumphant, as timeless as it is a statement of the times. It is a testament to the undying spirit of rock-n-roll and, with it, the gentlemen of The Lighter Exchange are poised to take their journey to new heights...
