Between a Planet and a Hard Place
All songs are impromptu with with minimal forethought. Most songs are dark with core rhythms, based around detuned guitars, bass, electric drums, synth, mic, etc., with other musical loops or aberrations thrown in spontaneously. I would venture to say the over all mood is much like a very heavy mantra. This is a solo work while playing and or looping live. This is done through "on the fly" sampling through whatever device or instruments needed for the basic contruct of that song.
What do I sound like? The mood behind the music is ethereal, dissonant, conjunct, droning, experimental, gravitating, more or less, towards the darker core side of rock or metal music. I guess I could be summed up as shoegaze or dreamgaze. Depending on the mood, what you hear now, will vary the next time around. There is little or no over dubbing after post production, just pure freedom of arranging, performing and or looping.
Let me warn you ahead of time. You will need to set aside time to listen to the songs as they are lengthy by nature, as I intended them to be. My music is exploratory, so mood, setting and location is key. Unfortunately due to length of the songs, the playback bit rates will be FM quality. (Not that MP3's sound any better) Last but not least, I hope my current project hits a chord within you, and you enjoy it, give me a shout.
Thanks for listening,
