Phareke was born in Bull Bay Jamaica and migrated as an infant child to the city of Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada where he was raised. The second youngest of 5 children next to his twin brother, Phareke was blessed to have a large supporting family and many friends. Transcona, also known as T Town was where Phareke was educated, disciplined and discovered his love for music and entertainment. As a youth he started acting in plays such as Anancy, Dumisani Productions and forming bands in school such as Black N White Connections, Mood Swing and more with his brothers and friends. Capturing audiences with flips and breaks and other acrobatic musical performances, he knew what he was destined to do.
Moving forward to 1993 when Jimmy Alibi, Phareke's Twin meets up with Intuition who came up with the name Hedonic Crew in high school meaning (In Constant Pursuit of Pleasure...) Phareke knew his pleasure was music and the three of them began their mission to take it to a more serious level. Jimmy Alibi led the mission by attending Mid Ocean school of recording and acquiring the crew's first beat machine and mc 808 sampler. Songs were created and a sound was found.
Thursday, December 31st, 1999 Phareke makes a move to the West Coast to continue the pursuit of this musical dream. Many years were spent networking and promoting the Hedonic Crew and in 2004, he began a new avenue in artist management. Hedonic Entertainment was formed and the first artist on the roster was reggae artist Jahranimo. For the next four years, working as a manager, Jahranimo was put on the map in 26 different countries via the net and cd sold in 4 different countries with licensing and distribution deals, movie soundtracks and two successful albums involving collaborations with known reggae artists such as Kirk Davis and Jah Cure.
Today, Phareke continues to perform as a solo artist and occasionally with a six to 8 piece band, promote events as well as getting involved in countless community and activist movements through his organization HIP HOP FOR HUMANITY.
Stay tuned for future movements:)
