When you were a child, wasn’t your imaginary friend always there for you?
Well, so is New Orleans’ IMAGINARY FRENZ. In fact, they’ve been here for you for more than 15 years, providing great music for all occasions – parties, weddings, corporate events, festivals, night clubs, casinos, etc.
Since IMAGINARY FRENZ returned to playing live full time in 2010, they have played nearly 100 shows for a variety of clientele and audiences, including: Crescent City Connection Race (“Bridge Run”), Krewe of Tucks, Krewe of Okeanos, Jefferson Parish Business Association, “Ain’t Dat Super Live” at Mahalia Jackson Theater, 2010 & 2011 Rock & Roll Mardi Gras Marathons, Cox Sports Television (“Eric Richey Show”.)
IMAGINARY FRENZ began as a high energy acoustic act by Oscar “OT” Torres and Tim Chauvin. Eventually, IMAGINARY FRENZ expanded its energy into a full band, entertaining audiences with multiple styles – rock, funk, soul, country and ballads to name a few.
With performance experience in both the swamps of Louisiana and the swamps of New Jersey, Oscar “OT” Torres is the soul man of the band, both vocally and percussively. In addition to performing music, “OT” is also an actor, with appearances in numerous movies (“Ray”) and television commercials (Blue Runner Beans, Louisiana Lottery.)
Tim Chauvin is the schooled musical technician of the band, often tying the sound together with a unique precision as he deftly switches between guitars and keyboards/piano.
The 2010 addition of Chris Broussard, on bass and vocals, to IMAGINARY FRENZ has brought the band a new energy and an expanded repertoire.
Finally, at select performances you can find Stephen Lundgren, a 20 year veteran of the popular BUCKTOWN ALLSTARS, behind the keyboards or on accordion.
So, if you are planning a special event and need some good live music performed by some good guys, remember that just like when you were young, your IMAGINARY FRENZ are always there for you!
