Sunny Travels is a musical group that began in Fargo, ND, in the mid-nineties. Since then, the band of Midwest kids has undergone much evolution on their path to Portland, OR, where they now operate.
Sunny Travels is now an inspired, unique rock-reggae band currently gigging, recording, and livin’ it up in the Portland, OR area, where they have jammed with numerous excellent local musicians until they eventually met up with ‘The Swice’ who now provides the irie beats for ST and is currently heading the recording process of a brand new, reggae-esque-laced project which will be available in the coming months.
The group has recorded four indie albums to date: ‘Feelin’ Alright’ – 2002, ‘But I Can’t Leave This Rocking Chair’ (acoustic) -2004, and ‘Meet the Beer Pirates’ -2009, and have received quite a bit of college radio airplay for each. The fellas’ latest release, the rock album – ‘ZANG!’ – the first made in Portland rather than North Dakota, dropped in October, 2011 and is now circulating and rockin’ out folks all over. ZANG! also includes a lovely guest performance by Jimi Jazz, former bassist of G-Love and the Special Sauce, on keys on the track ‘The Police Acted Stupidly.’ And Bradly ‘Sweet’ Carrol on drums as well…. Check it out!
The group Sunny Travels consists of: Blair Ross- vocals/lyrics, Ryan Anderson- guitar, vocals/lyrics, some kazoo, Greg Olson- bass guitar, and Bryan Garfinkel (aka Roy Swice) on drums… Check us out…
