At age 14 I received my first guitar for Christmas with a huge 100 watt Peavey Tube Amp. I learned to play a few riffs like the Blues Brothers bass line and I was truly hooked for life. I remember spending endless hours shut in my room with my amp up too loud playing Black Sabbath riffs and trying to write songs before I could even string a few chords together. I started to receive lessons and learned to play the ubiquitous Stairway To Heaven as all ambitious budding guitarist do. Then I moved on to classical guitar and my guitar teacher introduced me to the Beatles. After a gap at university I played the guitar as a way to pleasantly pass the time when I was bored in the dorm room. Eventually I realized that my true love was music and that I should study it seriously. I went to Stevenson College for a few years and I then was accepted into the BMus Course at Napier University. I graduated with Honours in 2005 and have been teaching guitar, writing and producing my songs, providing classical guitar music for weddings, and generally just living and breathing music.
