Derry gave birth to my two great loves - bass and acoustic. Gerry Anderson in Toe Jam (bass) and some scout leader I don't remember but who mesmerised on acoustic. I've been bass player in the mighty PaddyWanAsh and Saint Silas Intercession, proud to be one of the last acts aired by the late great John Peel (and the Sex Pistol's Paul Cook in LA)!. On acoustic I began at the Mean Fiddler Acoustic Room in North London with other folkies - Hank Wangford, Freddie White, Sharon Shannon and the Levelers. Playing every genre between rock and pop, sometimes bass, electric or viola & violin, I always went home to the acoustic and the songwriting. What a joy.
This year I'm recording the album Rising Slowly and I'm currently 'touring' the tracks, two songs at a time, at the Acoustic Nights open mic artist session at the Kings Head in Crouch End and the North London Tavern in Kilburn. I will be updating the website and blog with progress.
